San Carlos Harbour
Location: San Carlos de Bariloche City Hall lakeside path - Bariloche
Building: Harbour for touristic vessels, marine sports, shopping centre, restaurants, auditorium, etc. - 1987 - 11446,00m² - Water mirrors 16000,00 m²
Designed with architects A. Falaschi and N. Volcoff
The project was made in accordance with the technical and ecological requirements demanded by Argentina's Naval Command and other organisms of control and "Emprendimientos de Bariloche S.A.", under the guidelines of Public Tender Nº 014/987 of Bariloche's City Hall .
The initial development respects the U-like form of the City Council, extending its arms and separating even more the distance between them, trying not to obstruct the visuals to the lake.
Reaffirming this idea of converting the dialogue between the city and the lake, the complex was designed in two buildings running along the lake, as well as the port and its extensions, of 3927m² and 1238m².
Between these two buildings, the tourism dock would be set towards the west, with a capacity for 11 ships, and towards the east, the sports dock, with a capacity for 70 motorboats in floating piers.
A lighthouse was also projected, over the main breakwater, a boulevard that unifies both buildings with pergolas and viewpoints, a parking area, and all things necessary for a first-class harbour.
During the first stages the main building was constructed. Its infrastructure consists of 2 floors on which there's the ticket office, kiosk, tearoom, a skating ring, ball pit, games for children and the Puerto Bar pub.
